Feeding Boys

Can I ask, what kind of food budget do you have? We have a budget but honestly with growing boys I do not stick to it.
This little boy did not want to eat much dinner last night but ate his hot dog and then ate daddies hot dog even thought it was covered in toppings.

By the way I have said it before and will say it again, I love feeding my family at SAMs club.

2 Ingredient Fudge

I have to admit that I kind of have a addiction. Every time I walk into a store and they have flavored frosting I have to buy one or maybe 10.
I did not realize how much I had until I organized our pantry..

So what do you do with all this yummy frosting. You make FUDGE. And yes I meant to scream that.

To make fudge:
1 melt one bag of white chocolate chips
2 mix in one can of frosting
3 spread into a pan and you are done
It will set up in about a hour
I also like to mix one can of frosting with a small jar of peanut butter. YUMM
This is a great gift idea without the fear of it not setting up.

Happy Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was different. It was not full of family or friends.
We did not cook anything the day before or make home made pies. I woke up really sad and feeling lonely. Then I decided that I am choosing to be grateful.

I decided to enjoy the day and spend time with the kids and my amazing husband who is home. We folded laundry while we watched the parade. We ate dinner and napped while some worked outside.

Poor Jacob was so tired he fell asleep before we even ate dinner. I don't mind because after lunch I took time to snuggle him and love on him.
So the day may not have started the way I wanted but it is ending the way it should be. With all of my children together and everyone healthy. For that I am grateful.

Graduating

This little stinker has graduated. He has graduated to a Sunday school class. I do not remember giving him permission to grow up so fast.
I guess I could just put a brick on his head. I won't lie it has been nice watching him play with toys and be more independent.

Potato Candy

Potato candy, it was my best seller at the last vendors fair. I will admit I did not call it potato candy until they tasted it.
What is potato candy? Potato candy taste like a white Reese cup.
Mix 1/4  homemade mash potato with 6-8 cups powdered sugar and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Use enough powdered sugar to make a soft dough.
Next roll out the dough ( like a cinnamon roll). Cover in peanut butter and roll up into a log.
Put log or in my case logs in the fridge until ready to use. Slice and serve. Yummy, it literally melts in your mouth.

Olive Oil

I love this child, I really love her. Every morning she milks the goats. She has warm clothes. But insist on dressing herself in this. This morning my husband insisted she looked like olive oil especially with his work boots on.
Yes that is a super wins night gown with cape and a army hat.

Pampered Chef

Do you remember me saying I had a pampered chef party recently? I just took a minute to add up my free stuff. This picture does not cover all that we got because some of it is Christmas gifts.
After all is said and done I ended up with over $300 in free things.
Did you know pampered chef has lots of options. You can have a in home party or a on line party. Actually most of my party was from outside on line orders.
I am so excited about this show that I have decided to re activate my consultant status. If you are interested in hosting a show or ordering you can click here. This is a great way to order your Christmas gifts and have them shipped right to the person. Can you imagine not having to leave your house to shop or going to the post office.
Plus you are helping me reach my goal.

Quiet Time and Blessings

This morning I woke to a house with no heat and wanted to stay under a blanket. I came downstairs and my devotional was gone. I choose to not waste time looking for it. I knew that I would get distracted so I just picked up a book.
Then I opened the book to a page without thinking about it.
This morning I read about adoption. Something that has been on my mind a lot recently. It was the perfect devotional. Then as I was praying I noticed a paper sticking out of the bottom. I opened the paper and it was from my prayer partner-mentor-friend 16 years ago.
I am always glad I make time but today I was totally blessed.
What has blessed you this week? What are you reading during your quiet time?

Poor Mama

Please don't laugh but I get sad when my chickens lay a double yoker. To me it is like delivering a huge baby. When I walk in the coop and see a girl in the nesting box I want to go over and rub her back and tell her it is okay.

Don't even ask about the tears I shed while my girl was off getting bred. I know I need help.

How to Peel a Potato

This trick really works. Boil your potatoes with the skin on, instantly put potatoes in ice water for 5 seconds or longer if you have sensitive hands. Then pick up and the skin will pull right off.
No more worrying about cutting your hand with a potato peeler.  We only needed a couple of potatoes so this worked great.

Quick Breakfast

It is getting cold outside and that means no one wants to get up in the morning.
We learned a neat trick a couple of years ago. Scramble eggs and add in any meat  you like. Wrap in a tortilla shell and brown in a skillet. Wrap in Saran Wrap and freeze.
My husband can grab one on his way out the door and plop it in the microwave at work. This gives him a hot breakfast.
And if you do not want to share with your kids then just wrap them in a spinach tortilla shell and add peppers. If you get tired of this breakfast you can always add salsa to the top.

Soup

I love daylight savings time. We woke up as normal. Actually I did get a little more sleep than normal. So I woke up and put soup in the crock pot. I made veggie soup and taco soup. That evening we canned the soup. I know store bought soup is cheaper but I am pretty sure this is lower in sodium and I feel better knowing I made him lunch.

We found the recipes on Pinterest. I am kind of addicted to Pinterest.

Siblings

They share a room. Except he still sleeps with me. Last night he had a rough night.
So this morning he naps with sister. She does not mind how he wiggles or where he puts his feet and arms.

I hope they are always this close. I look forward to the time they are sharing a room.

Those Eyes

These eyes. He is so tired but refuses to sleep.
Although I do not think I would sleep if I had a sister taking pictures of me. I would just give her my sad eyes and ask her to take me out of the car seat.

Pampered Chef

Tonight I am having a pampered chef party. I love pampered chef, I sold it years ago to help pay for my addiction. Okay, really it is more about my husbands addiction than mine. I think his wish list is longer than mine. If you would like to place a order just click here. It is a great way to order Christmas gifts and go ahead and have it shipped to their house. Can you imagine being done with your birthday and Christmas shopping in one day and in the process you are helping me earn some wonderful goodies.

Her Heart

This girl thrilled me this week. We celebrated her birthday at home after she went to dinner with dad.
While opening her gifts she came to me with tears in her eyes and hugged me tightly. She said "oh mom, you do way too much". She could not believe I bought her a very special gift. What was this gift that brought my precious girl to tears?

It was socks. I bought her socks that she had said she wanted for months. I won't lie daddy went over board with her big gift. I love her heart. I love that she was just as happy with $5 socks as she was with her big gift.
I love that she is so much like me. I could care less how much you spend. It matters more to me that you thought about the gift.

Puppy Pillows

These dogs are so amazing. They rarely wrestle in the house. They are the calmest dogs.
We are teaching Jacob that they are not his pillow. He does not agree.

Chicken Poo

I have said it before but will say it one more time. My family needs a camera crew watching them.
Sometimes I forget how much out lives have changed. I never believed this would be my life. And while I love it I will admit it takes some time to get adjusted.
Let me explain. We have animals that we care for every day. We have shoes that we are suppose to wear to take care of these animals.
Sadly sometimes someone forgets what shoes they wore earlier in the day.
Today was Faiths first chiropractor appointment. I was not in the room when she was being adjusted but heard what happened. Appearantly while adjusting her our amazing chiropractor got something on her hand. The kids took great delight in telling her it was okay because it was only chicken poo not goat poo.
I just have to ask when did it become socially acceptable to walk around with any poo on your shoe?
I cannot believe we have lived here 10 months. I love living here. I love having all of our animals. I however think we need to get more organized with our clothes.

Canning and Storing

We have spent a lot of time in the kitchen recently. We have canned for the winter and canned for the farmers market.
Jacob said he is tired of us messing with these canning jars and is ready for us to be lady on the couch.

This week I have made a ton of apple bread and apple cider frosting. I cannot get enough apple cider frosting.

If you are looking for a fun gift for that male co worker I suggest candied peppers. HOT, is a understatement.

Laundry and Hiding

Do you see anything in these pictures? Of course not because my kids are the best at hiding.
I know that this would never happen at anyone else's house but at my house we almost always have at least a couple loads of clean laundry waiting to be folded.

I could be discouraged by this or let the kids hide in the clothes. Today I choose to just relax and let the kids hide in with the clean towels.

Pampered Chef

I have said it before and I will say it again, I love pampered chef. It is one of those products that you know is going to last.  Tonight I made cinnamon rolls in muffin pans. Probably the best idea I have ever tried. They come out looking like flowers.
These are both pampered chef stones. Can you guess which one is over 5 years old?
Here is a neat tip, the small scoop works perfect for the mini muffin pan, the large works perfect in the regular muffin pan.
I am hosting a show at my house next week. I would love it if you all flew in to join us. If you would like to order but are not local you can order right here. www.pamperedchef.com/pws/ramonapc/guest-landing/8888203492507
